Members of RSDUY participated in the II German-Russian political workshop “Minorities and Democracy” in Germany from June, 26 to July, 3. Organizers of this workshop were Fridrich Ebert Stiftung and RSDUY. Participants of workshop was coming from Russia and from Germany. There were members of RSDUY from Novosibirsk, St.Petersburg, Izhevsk, Velikiy Novgorod, Barnaul and Kostroma. During the workshop participants were go to german lands Brandenburg and Schleswig-Holstein and cities Berlin, Potsdam, Rendsburg, Flensburg, Bad Segeberg and Lübeck. Half of one of days of workshop the participants were spending in the Denmark. Discussions of different themes were took place in the Bundestag, Muslim mosque, German and Danish culture centers, Turkish restaurant, town hall and in gay bar. Participants suggested solutions for solving of local problems related to a construction of airport Berlin-Brandenburg. During the business game participants discussed about possibilities of local administration for solving of minorities’ problems. The hardest discussion was about rights of LGBT-communities. The O-TonArt Theater presented its own performance about opposing the homophobia. “For me is interesting completely different perceptions of one of those things, and participants from Germany and Russia, respectively, and the solutions to these questions tend to receive different. However, this probably is the main value of such activities – sharing experiences, exploring other points of view and opinions. Probably the result of such an event would be the emergence of many new and interesting projects” – says Vladimir Kostin, one of participants, leader of Social-democrats of Novosibisk.
